Chapter Eleven

***Felicia***

It’s finally here, we’re going to be husband and wife,” I said to Raheim. We were having a small ceremony tomorrow with about thirty to forty friends. I wanted to do a destination wedding but I was afraid of putting the baby back on an airplane. My mother’s decision to show up to my special day was still a little uncertain. We found a beautiful wedding chapel and paid for the deluxe package that included a photographer. Raheim personally mailed my mother a plane ticket and a greyhound bus ticket in case she didn’t want to fly for her to come. It may be extremely unlikely considering we haven’t spoken to her since that last visit. She’s even been ignoring all of Sandy’s calls. On the other side of that, my sister has never looked or been happier. She’s even flirted with the idea of dating. I told her after my wedding that I’d take her out with a few of my friends so she can position herself to meet someone. She’s toying with the idea of moving here to Philadelphia.

“You nervous?” Sandy asked as I fed the baby. He was starting to get so big and his green colored eyes were bright and adorable.

“Not really, I’m still a little shocked. Just a year ago I was willing to walk away from Raheim and be a single parent because I thought he wouldn’t want to have any kids to now about to be his wife. Life is crazy as hell,” I said reflectively. My life has changed so much. I knew Raheim was planning something big because he’s been a lot busier and he keeps telling me it’s to build up our income and he can leave the hustle he’s been doing for the last few years.

My sister and I both looked up when we saw Rah walk into the house.

“Hey y’all,” he greeted.

“Hey babe,” I said as he kissed me.

“So what time does your bachelorette party start tonight?” Rah asked seriously.

“I don’t know I think Chanel said around seven. What time are we taking Rahmir over to Aunt Sadie’s house?” I asked.

“You tell me, I know your ass betta not do anything I wouldn’t do,” he said with a hint of jealousy.

“That means I have a lot of room to play with,” I joked.

“Call it all off, we gone sit here and watch a movie. Sandy, you down right?” He asked with a smile on his face. I loved this man so damn much it hurt.

“Oh no, I’ve waiting for this for the longest so I don’t know what to tell you,” Sandy responded causing us all to laugh. Rah took the baby from my arms before kissing his cheeks a few times.

“Let’s go, man, they tripping right? Mommy better not have too much fun or daddy is going to come and get her tonight,” He spoke in a baby voice to Rahmir. I laughed at them both.

Minutes later and he was gone out of the room leaving me and my sister alone.
